Tasting Note
Inky black-fruit core of blackberry, cassis and wild blueberries with mocha, cedar, sandalwood, menthol lift and subtle green olive. Bright acidity, dense plush fruit, fine al-dente tannins and a long, savory, chocolate-tinged finish.

Food Pairing
Grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, aged cheddar; Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi/gochujang beef), char siu, Peking duck, Szechuan beef or hoisin-glazed dishes.

Production Method
Barrel-fermented elements; matured ~16 months in new oak (approx. 80% French, 20% American). Assembled from Napa Valley parcels with a South Australian component and bottled under cork.

Penfolds, established 1844, expanded into California with a ‘California Collection’. Bin 149 (introduced 2018) blends selected Napa Valley blocks with South Australian Cabernet to reflect Penfolds’ House Style.
