Tasting Note

Deep plum and black cherry with cassis, truffle, black tea, and subtle spice. Full-bodied, polished tannins, bright acidity and an opulent, long mineral finish with cocoa and earthy notes.


Food Pairing

Roast rack of lamb, beef tenderloin, venison or game; truffle risotto, aged Comté or Gouda; Asian: Peking duck, char siu, braised beef short ribs, shiitake mushroom hot pot.


Production Method

Hand-harvested, fermented in temperature-controlled vats with careful vat selection; aged 12–16 months in French oak (around half new).

Pétrus is a tiny (≈11.4 ha) elite Pomerol estate owned by the Moueix family. Renowned for its blue/black clay soils and small annual production (~30–36k bottles).
