Tasting Note
Bright garnet with violet edges. Aromas of blackberry, cassis, violets, cedar and spice; palate is fresh and lively with concentrated dark fruit, firm grainy tannins, saline minerality and long licorice finish.
Food Pairing
Western: grilled/roasted lamb, aged beef, ribeye, hard cheeses; Asian: Korean BBQ (bulgogi), Chinese roast duck, Sichuan beef, char siu — spicy, umami-rich dishes complement the wine's fruit and tannic structure.
Production Method
Hand-harvested; fermented in stainless steel and concrete vats with extended maceration; aged ~22 months in new and used French oak and large Stockinger foudres; biodynamic viticulture.
Vineyard Info
Seña was founded in 1995 by Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi; a single-estate, single-wine project on ~42 ha, now owned by the Chadwick/Errázuriz family focused on high-end, biodynamic expression of Aconcagua terroir.
