Tasting Note
Perfumed blackcurrant and blackberry with violet, cedar, graphite and menthol; finely grained, polished tannins, energetic acidity and a very long, mineral finish. (Youthful—will cellar decades).
Food Pairing
Western: roast lamb, prime rib, venison, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses. Asian: Peking duck, char siu, Korean BBQ beef, Sichuan-style braised beef, rich Cantonese roasted meats.
Production Method
Hand-harvested, rigorous selection for the Grand Vin; fermentation in oak vats/barrels and élevage in largely new oak (c.18–20 months). Fining with egg white.

Château Margaux, an 1855 First Growth in the Margaux appellation, has long gravel soils and a multi-century history producing elegant, perfumed Cabernet-based wines. The Grand Vin is made from the estate’s best parcels.
